Greensboro, NC -- Victims of domestic violence and young mothers now have a safe place to go in Guilford County.
My Sister's House opened Monday to a crowd of supporters including Senator Kay Hagan.
The building was largely built by UNCG interior architecture students and GTCC carpentry students.
Women will get counseling, educational training, and parenting and independent living skills training.
"This is really going to help them accomplish a lot of things: to finish their schooling, get a job and then to really be able to move out on their own and to be able to live independently," said Chuck Hodierne with the group.
The non-profit Youth Focus will manage My Sister's House, and the YWCA will provide victim assistance.
