Lloyd International Honors College has named two associate professors as its inaugural Chancellor’s Resident Fellows for 2009-10.
The Honors College awarded one-year appointments to Dr. Jeff Jones (History) and Dr. Patrick Lee Lucas (Interior Architecture). The Resident Fellowship Program allows faculty to teach for a full academic year in the International Honors College and provides support for ongoing faculty research projects.
Dr. Lucas has won awards for his teaching at both UNCG and Michigan State University. He researches the work of architect Edward Loewenstein and mid-century modern design aesthetics. He will bring to the International Honors College unique courses on visualizing American empire and design thinking.
The Honors College also announced the winners of its course development grants, which support faculty in the preparation of special courses to be taught in the College. Dr. Cheryl Buehler (Human Development and Family Studies) was one of this year’s grantees.
