Alumni from the School of Health and Human Sciences at UNCG are honored on Reunion Weekend. An Alumni Awards Ceremony is held to honor these alumni for their important local, regional, national, and international contributions. This year's ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 13.

The HHS Graduate Mentoring Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates excellence in mentoring graduate students. Mentoring graduate students can take many roles, from working one-on-one in advising, teaching, or research activities, to supervising multiple students in research labs, practica, or clinical settings. Notable accomplishments include, but are not limited to, directing theses and dissertations, coauthoring students’ presentations at professional meetings, coauthoring publications with students (or recent graduates) and helping students develop clinical skills in professional settings.
The HHS Community Engaged Scholarship Award recognizes and rewards a member of the faculty in HHS who demonstrates excellence in scholarly engagement with a community partner. Community engagement that benefits the University and a community partner, while demonstrating a clear connection to departmental, school or university mission is the focus of this award.
The School of Health and Human Sciences Contributions to Diversity and Inclusion Award is presented to the individual or individuals who make significant contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the School of Health and Human Sciences and in the health and human sciences professions. Contributions include increasing the presence of under-represented populations in the health and human sciences professions and engaging and addressing the needs of diverse populations facing social and health disparities in the Triad, State and beyond.
Health and Human Sciences Research Excellence Awards recognize HHS faculty members for their outstanding research contributions. Each year, one tenured and one untenured faculty member is recognized. Excellence may be demonstrated by the originality of work, a pattern of research productivity and the involvement of student in the research enterprise. The Senior Research Excellence Award is based on the nominee's career-long body of reseach.
The HHS Outstanding Staff Award recognizes and rewards a member of the staff in HHS who provides outstanding leadership and service to our school. Leadership and service are contributions made to HHS which go beyond the scope of normal responsibilities. Examples of leadership and service include, but are not limited to: service on university committees and humanitarian activities/recognition. Service may also include departmental, school, university, and/or professional roles.
