About The Program to Advance Community Responses to Violence Against Women

Mission

The mission of the Program to Advance Community Responses to Violence Against Women is to engage in research, educational activities, and community partnerships to advance the community's capacity to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls.

Program Director

Dr. Christine E. Murray is the Director of the Program to Advance Community Responses to Violence Against Women.

Priorities

The key priorities of the CWHW's Program to Advance Community Responses to Violence Against Women are the following:

  • Strategic area #1: To be a leader in developing and evaluating strategies for integrating research and practice related to domestic violence
  • Strategic area #2: To foster interdisciplinary collaborations to promote innovative approaches to understanding and responding to violence against women and girls
  • Strategic area #3: To work toward systemic, community-based approaches to prevention and intervention in the area of violence against women and girls
  • Strategic area #4: To increase understanding of the longer-term and compound needs of women and girls who have experienced victimization and to develop resources and programs to address those needs
