Donna M. Duffy, Ph.D. is a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology at UNCG. In addition to her faculty responsibilities, Donna is the Program Director for the
Program for the Advancement of Girls and Women in Sport and Physical Activity, which is housed in the Center for Women’s Health and Wellness at UNCG. Donna completed her Ph.D. in the Department of Kinesiology at UNCG in 2007. Prior to coming to UNCG, Donna completed her B.S. and M.Ed. at Boston University in Curriculum and Instruction.
Paige Hall Smith, PhD, MSPH
Paige Hall Smith, PhD, MSPH is the Director of the Center for Women's Health at UNCG. Paige is Associate Professor of Public Health Education and the 2004-2006 Linda Arnold Carlisle Professor of
Women´s and Gender Studies at UNCG.
She has been at
UNCG and active with the Women´s and Gender Studies Program since 1995. She has a particular interest in making new connections and collaborative teams among women´s health researchers at UNCG. Her own line of research focuses on improving health care response to women, reducing violence against women, and breastfeeding promotion.
Leilani Madrigal is the graduate assistant for the
Program for the Advancement of Girls and Women in Sport & Physical Activity. She is a graduate student in the Department of Kinesiology at UNCG. She is working on her Doctoral degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Her research interests are in positive mental skills such as resiliency, optimism and mental toughness, and the links to sport issues (i.e. risk of and recovery from sport injury, and coping with defeat). Leilani received her B.A. and M.A. in psychology from California State University, San Marcos where she played NAIA softball for the program's first 2 seasons.
Erin Reifsteck is a graduate student in the Department of Kinesiology at UNCG. She is currently working toward her Doctoral degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology after completing her M.A. in Sport and Exercise Psychology at UNCG. Her research interests are in gender and sport issues as well as physical activity and sport/life transitions. Erin received her B.S. in psychology with a minor in neuroscience at Saint Francis University (PA) where she played Division I field hockey and was named a two-time
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American and the Northeast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Erin's current athletic pursuits include coaching local youth field hockey teams and competing in taekwondo.
