HistoryDr. Betty M. Flinchum, Director of International Programs at the University of North Florida , Jacksonville , established the Betty M. Flinchum International Study Endowment Fund in 1998. Income from this endowment will be used to enhance the cultural, social, and professional advancement of an undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in a program of study in the School of Health and Human Performance.
Dr. Betty M. FlinchumA native of Greensboro, Betty M. Flinchum graduated from UNCG (then WCUNC) in 1957 with a Batchelor of Science degree in Physical Education and a Master's in Education degree in 1962.
Appointed to the University of North Florida in 1972 as a founding faculty member in the College of Education and Human Services. Dr. Flinchum has served the university as teacher, advisor, chairperson and research associate. For the last eleven years, she has devoted a major portion of her time to the development of international programs and currently serves as Director of the Office of International Programs.
