EligibilityHistory
Dr. Gail M. Hennis, a retired Professor of the School of Health and Human Performance and Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, established the Gail M. Hennis International Study Endowment Fund in 1998. Income from this fund is used to enhance the cultural, social and professional advancement of an undergraduate student currently enrolled in a program of study in the School of Health and Human Performance during study abroad. Dr. Hennis passed away December 2002.
Dr. Gail M. HennisDuring her lifetime, Dr. Hennis has explored the USA, Canada and Mexico; made numerous trips to the British Isles; toured extensively throughout Europe; visited Egypt, Israel and Turkey in the Middle East; and included journeys to Southeast Asia, China, Australia, New Zealand, Fuji, Germany, Sweden and Norway. These activities convinced her of the value of an international experience to the enhancement of one's knowledge and understanding. It was her hope that more UNCG students will be encouraged to include such experiences as an integral part of their degree program.
