- HIS 239: Latin America: Colonial Period - Introduction to the early history of Latin America. Emphasis on the clash of cultures, Indian-Spanish relations, and the structure and mechanisms of empire.
- HIS 240: Latin America: National Period - Introduction to the political and economic history of Latin America since independence. Survey covers political dynamics, social transformations, and the evolution of export economics.
- HIS 320: Central American History - The political structure and economies of a "nation divided," the Central American republics from independence in 1821 to the triumph of neoliberalism at the beginning of the 21st century.
