Research Interests

I am interested in the application of psychology and biology to society in the early twentieth century. Specific topics include:

  • History of physiology and neurology
  • History of sexuality
  • History of eugenics, the IQ movement and psychiatry
  • Early twentieth century models of mind

Spectacular Failure in Science: Endocrinology, the Inheritance of Acquired Characteristics and Alternative Eugenics: 1902-1933
