UNCG Historical Society
Founded in 1981, the UNCG Historical Society (known then as the UNCG History Club) is the oldest departmental student group on campus. We promote the study of history through special events, lectures, movies, games, trips, and other events throughout the year.
All students and faculty of UNCG are welcome to attend, and we cater our meetings and programs specifically toward undergraduate students at UNCG.
Anyone is welcome to join the Historical Society. There are no dues and you do not have to be a history major or minor. All that is required is a willingness to learn and a love for the study and advancement of history.
For the Spring 2013 semester, the UNCG Historical Society will meet on Wednesdays at 12pm (noon) in the conference room of the History Department (MHRA room 2120).
To contact us, search for our group on facebook ("UNCG Historical Society"), follow us on Twitter (@UNCGHistSociety), or check our blog (http://uncghistoricalsociety.blogspot.com/). You can also email us at uncghistoricalsociety@gmail.com.Fundraising Event: May 1, 2013 from 5pm-9pm
We have partnered with Moe's restaurant at 1744 Battleground Avenue in Greensboro to raise funds for our trip to Gettysburg over the summer. Please come out and support us! There will be a place for people to put their receipts, and 20% from the sales of all receipts that are donated will go toward the Historical Society!
Note to UNCG staff/faculty/students: This is on Reading Day, so you can come here instead of going to those evening classes!
If you have questions, please feel free to email us at uncghistoricalsociety@gmail.com
