History Major Advising Center

Fall and Summer 2013 Advising

The Advising Center will be opened during the dates and times below. The Advising Center is located in the MHRA-Humanities building, room 2120. Advising codes will only be available by visiting the Advising Center during the Advising period.

To ensure that you get the classes that you want or need, plan to come early in the Advising period! The Center will be staffed by History faculty and will operate on a first come/first serve basis. Appointments are not scheduled.

Registration for continuing students will take place March 26 through April 11.

Social Studies Licensure majors: Please note the dates and times an advisor will be available to answer specific questions regarding your major. You will also need to see a History faculty member in order to get your advising code.

Be Prepared! Five Steps to a Great Advising Appointment

1. Bring a Recent Degree Evaluation from UNCGenie.
2. Bring an Up-to-date Transcript.
   You may obtain a transcript through UNCGenie on the University's website.
3. Know Your Degree Requirements
   Current degree requirements for History majors and minors are located:
   • In the Undergraduate Bulletin
   • In the department's office in 2120 MHRA
4. Make a Tentative List of Courses
   List courses you will need to meet your degree requirements and fit your course requirements within your interests. Bring your list with you!
5. Read your UNCG Email for information on when your registration windows opens.
