All Museum Studies graduate students are automatically members of the Museum Studies/Historic Preservation Graduate Student Group (MSHP). MSHP serves its members in five ways: leadership, community service, programs, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and relaxation/peer support. As a student-run organization, members set the group’s agenda each year. Community activities have ranged from tree-planting and clean-up projects to exhibit installations and middle and high school history fairs. Programs we sponsor include a spring career panel, guest speakers, and field trips. MSHP includes students from the departments of Interior Architecture and History, providing opportunities for collegiality and collaboration beyond the classroom. Finally, we create a mutual support network to help our members get the most out of graduate school.
