IAR Studio Projects

All IAR graduate students complete a self-directed studio project related to their graduate concentration with an explicit theoretical base and an understanding of current best practices. Recent projects range from adaptive use of historic mills, opera houses, commercial buildings, and shotgun houses to bringing grocery stores back to downtown or designing exhibits that engage the cycling community and educate the public. The individual studio investigations are one way to tailor the program to address specific topics or explore emerging issues. View a video of one student’s studio project.
