Advocating for Preservation

UNCG students in the Preservation Planning and Law class learned first hand what it is like to lobby Capitol Hill. After developing “leave behinds” customized for each NC senator and representative, the class joined preservationists from across the country for the March 2009 Lobby Day organized by Preservation Action. Accompanied by instructors Autumn Rierson Michael and Jo Ramsay Leimenstoll, the class walked the halls of Congress and pitched the case for preservation legislation face-to-face in to NC congress members and staff.
