Close to Home
The Close to Home exhibit considered Modernism in design and its place in the Greensboro community starting at the mid-twentieth century. It represented the combined efforts of an interior architecture studio, several art studios, and a material culture seminar. In reaching outside the ivory tower, UNCG students and faculty partnered with a number of community agencies and individuals to bring this design story to light. Beyond Modernism in design alone, this exhibit explored the progressive thought and deep spirit of people in Greensboro of the 1950s and 1960s that enabled innovative ideas to take root.
