Call for Papers: 2008 UNDERGRADUATE HONORS SYMPOSIUM
To be held Friday, February 1, 2008, Weatherspoon Art Museum
New this Year: The Honors Symposium Prize, sponsored by UNCG’s Lloyd International Honors College, will be awarded for the most outstanding paper submitted to the Symposium. The prize, dedicated to the encouragement of high quality academic writing among freshmen and sophomores, includes a monetary award of $150.00.
What is the Honors Symposium?
The Honors Symposium offers undergraduates—especially freshmen and sophomores--the opportunity to participate in an academic conference with concurrent sessions. Each student will present a ten-minute paper, after which a faculty respondent will offer commentary. The 2008 Symposium will feature 27 student paper presentations.
Who Can Participate?
We welcome submissions from any UNCG undergraduate student (College of Arts & Sciences, Bryan School of Business & Economics, School of Education, School of Health & Human Performance, School of Human Environmental Sciences, School of Music, or School of Nursing). Papers can be written from any disciplinary perspective (natural sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities). Students may submit a paper that is part of course work or write a paper especially for the Symposium.
