Software Recommendations at IARC

The Digital Design Studio is owned and managed by the Department of Interior Architecture (IARC) and avaialble only to the IARC students.

Location
The Digital Design Studio is located in Room 313 Gatewood Studio Arts Building at UNCG.

Hours
The facility is open to the Interior Architecture students from 6am to 12 midnight and can be accessed using the UNCG First Card. Users should NOT prop the door open. Each lab user must swipe in.

Policies
Along with the policies outlined in the IRC Computer Lab Policies, we require that you adhere to these policies while using the digital lab:

DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN

No food or drinks in the lab.

Files saved on the computers will be erased each semester. Your files will not be lost when the computer is shut down.

Create your own folder that is easily identifiable

Please be courteous of others' files. Remember to back up your files and save often

Please keep the desktop clean. Use the two folders (student files and temp storage) on the desktop to save your files.

A note does not grant you the rights to a computer. You are still at the mercy of your neighbor if you leave a note. That said, please be as courteous as possible when others do leave notes.

Clean up after yourself and be respectful of the space; other people have to use it after you. If you move something, put it back: chairs, lamps, desks, references, etc. should be returned to their original locations.

IARC students can also obtain free downloads of most Autodesk software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, etc. from http://students.autodesk.com

You will first need to register on this website using your UNCG email address. Free SketchUp licenses can be obtained by contacting your studio instructor.
