Welcome to iarc study abroad

By studying abroad, students push academic, professional, and personal boundaries, and enrich their experience of design by opening their minds to ideas and practices that are as rich as they are varied. Not only do they see buildings and artifacts they have studied, but they participate in studios at their host universities, becoming intimate with another way of sharing knowledge and designing. Students also witness firsthand the cultures and contexts that shape people and their environments. On a personal level, they build relationships with peers from around the world, travel within their host country and surrounding countries, participate in school activities, and perhaps even learn a new language!

Students typically go abroad in their third or fourth years of study. There are no requirements to study abroad with the Interior Architecture department, but there is an application that must be completed through UNCG’s International Programs Center, and the host university may have portfolio or language requirements. If you are not sure where to start, make an appointment with your advisor or with someone at IPC, or explore this website to learn more about where you can go!
