Ken Mayer is a Principal in Moser Mayer Phoenix Associates, a 23-person, Greensboro based architectural, engineering and interior design firm. He has served as Principal-in-Charge for a number of significant projects including Center Pointe, Greensboro, NC; NewBridge Bank Park, Greensboro, NC; Chico’s FAS, Inc. Corporate Headquarters, Fort Myers, FL; Multimodal Transportation Center, Greensboro, NC; various projects at Emory & Henry College, Emory, Virginia; Student Recreation Complex at Lees-McRae College, Banner Elk, NC;; GTCC: New Greensboro Campus, Greensboro, NC. Many of Ken’s recent projects have focused on sustainable design. He is currently involved in seven LEED registered projects for institutional, corporate and private development clients.
Ken is a native North Carolinian (born 1960), and was raised in eastern North Carolina and in Raleigh. He is a graduate of Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, from whom he received their Distinguished Alumni Award in 1993. He moved to Greensboro in January, 1987 and has been continually active in the community. Some of these activities include Board Member, Greensboro Partnership; Operating Group Member, Action Greensboro; Board Member, East Market Street Development Corporation; Member, AIA/AGC Joint Cooperative Committee; Member, AIA/NC Bar Liaison Committee; Past Chairman, Board of Trustees, UNCG; Past Chairman, Guilford County Planning Board; and Past President, Nat Greene Kiwanis Club.
