University Preparatory Program and New Mind Education

To address the unique and growing needs of international students, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and New Mind Education have partnered to create a custom-designed University Preparatory Program at UNCG (UPP@UNCG).

This program affords students the advantage of taking them well beyond providing direct or conditional admission to undergraduate and graduate programs at UNCG. The program also helps students smoothly transition to life in the US so they can start their university careers well prepared for academic and career success.

UPP@UNCG encompasses four vital aspects of college preparation 

Admission
New Mind counselors have an in-depth understanding of international student qualifications and academic preparation. We work with the UNCG International Admissions office to offer direct and conditional admission to the university’s undergraduate and graduate programs.

Advising
We provide individualized mentoring and the encouraging support that international students need to help them achieve their full potential.

Services
Our comprehensive 360˚ Total Care arranges for all basic student needs, from finding housing to opening a bank account to getting the right cell phone service.

Global Learning Curriculum
Created especially for foreign students coming to the US, our research-based curriculum gives students a strong grasp of American culture so they become more independent, at ease, and confident. Students develop the key skills that are highly valued in American education, such as critical thinking, leadership, and creativity, so they become fully engaged university students, on track to become the next generation’s global leaders.

ADMISSION INFORMATION
UNCG offers direct or conditional admission to foreign students who wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies. Applicants who have not proven English proficiency may apply for conditional admission based on their academic eligibility. For conditional admission to either undergraduate or graduate programs, all application requirements must be submitted with the exception of the TOEFL® (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS™ (International English Language Testing System) test and the GRE® (Graduate Record Exam), GMAT® (Graduate Management Admission Test), or MAT™ (Miller Analogies Test). Conditionally admitted graduate students are required to take their graduate exam (GMAT®, GRE®, or MAT™) after they complete the University Preparatory Program at UNCG.® ™
