Academic Achievement Awards Reception for Degree-Seeking International Students
Mike Elliott (left) and Penelope Pynes (right) presented Pinyapat Chuchuen (Thailand) with her achievement award

On February 7, 2013, IPC honored degree-seeking international students at the Academic Achievement Awards Reception. Joining the students in their celebration were IPC staff members Dr. Penelope Pynes (IPC Associate Provost), Mike Elliott (Director of International Student and Scholar Services), and Dr. Catherine Holderness (Interim Director of UNC Exchange Programs). Students were most appreciative of the reception as it allowed them to network and build new friendships.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet other international students in different programs,” said Pinyapat Chuchuen (Thailand), one of the awardees. A second-year MBA student and IPC graduate assistant, Pinyapat has received the award three consecutive semesters. For her, the award has served as a motivation to excel in her program. “It encourages you to improve and study hard,” she said. “I hope to get it every semester I’m at UNCG.”

For the Fall 2012 semester, 185 international students qualified for the award, maintaining a 3.5 or higher GPA. Congratulations to all the awardees, and we wish everyone another successful semester!
