Fall 2013 International Student Orientation
UNCG and IPC are delighted to welcome 130 new international exchange students and 121 degree-seeking students to our campus. During the week of August 12, 2013, the exchange students participated in a week full of orientation activities, including presentations on academic advising, academic and non-academic life, and visa document information. Additional presentations were provided by Housing and Residence Life, UNCG Police, Spartan Card Center and Dining Services, the Student Success Center, and the Student Health Center. Throughout the week, the students were also taken on several off-campus outings, including trips to Wal-Mart Super Center, Friendly Center, and Four Seasons Mall. As always, we truly appreciate the time taken to help our new students adjust and orient themselves to life at UNCG and the greater Greensboro area.
As part of orientation, new degree-seeking international students also attended one of eight orientation sessions given over the first three weeks of the semester. The sessions covered a variety of different issues and topics, including immigration and visa status, full-time enrollment, academic integrity, cultural adjustment and intercultural communication, student health services, campus safety, travel, employment, and various on- and off-campus resources for student success and well-being.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make this semester’s orientation week a success!
