On Tuesday, October 5, the International Programs Center welcomed ten students from the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa who were part of a leadership program aimed at helping to promote diversity on their university campus. These students were hosted by Appalachian State University for 10 days before coming to UNCG. Read more in Special Programs.

UNCG Celebrates Diwali On the evening of November 7, the Yuva India Student's Organization, sponsored by the International Students Association, hosted a night of dance, music, and food to celebrate this festival of lights. See Welcome.

International students travel to Washington, D.C. During UNCG's fall break, the International Student Assocation (ISA) brought a bus full of international students to our nation's capital. Read more in International Students.

IPC promotes community building Every month, our staff gets together with other international offices on campus to promote community building. For October, we had a Halloween theme and staff recognition. See Faculty & Staff for the full story.

My Summer in France Adult student Lisa Lowe went to France this past summer on a study abroad program. Her story proves that one is never too old to learn about other cultures. See Student Highlights.

Two groups of students to attend NC International Student Leadership Conference Stateside and members of the International Student Association will be presenting topics at the Leadership Conference at High Point University on November 13 and 14.
