Wroclaw University
Wroclaw is the largest city in Western Poland, with
a population of 700,000, and is the economic, cultural and intellectual
center of Lower Silesia, an historic region bordering Germany and the
Czech Republic. After 1945, Wroclaw was returned to Poland from Germany
and began recovering from WWII. The University was organized on the
ruins of a former German University which had been destroyed in the
war. Today, it is home to 15,000 students.
