International Exchange Program

Steps in Application Process:

1. Getting Started

Call the IPC at (336) 334-5404 or stop by 203 Foust Administration Building to set up an options appointment to get started, it's never to early. Talk to your faculty or departmental advisor about study abroad. Be sure to go over the Exchange Process Checklist to keep track of your progress. We will aid you throughout the process.

2. Define Your Goals

Identify Your Options. Why do you want to study abroad? Where? Do you want to study in another language or in English? Would you like to study abroad for a year or semester? Do you want a program that requires a lot of independence and initiative, or do you prefer one that handles more of the arrangements for you and lends more on-site support? Do you want to go as a sophomore, junior or senior? Do you plan to get general education or major credit? The IPC will help you find a suitable Program.

3. Apply!

Submit the application on or before the deadline. General deadlines are Feb. 15 or Sept. 15. For ISEP sites the deadlines may vary so check with the IPC. You will need to meet any eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and deadlines set by UNCG. Applications are available at the IPC.

4. Prepare!

Apply for your passport and begin travel arrangements. Attend your pre-departure orientation program. Finalize approval of credit transfer. Pack your bags and go!
