Traveling Within the United States
You do not need present official immigration documents or have permission to travel anywhere within the United States. Travel between the 50 states is totally unrestricted. To be prepared for the unusual possibility of an immigration check by U.S. officials, we recommend that you always carry the following documents:
- Passport (photo, signature, and expiration date pages).
- I-94 card.
- I-20 form (for F-1 students) in your wallet or purse.
- DS-2019 form (for J-1 students) in your wallet or purse.
