We are dedicated to providing The University of North Carolina at Greensboro community with information about Global Studies initiatives, cross-cultural projects, international business developments, and global course programs. We focus on international study, teaching and research opportunities, and exchange programs.

  O u r  M i s s i o n

Our primary mission at UNCG is to foster, encourage, and enhance Global Studies endeavors through the development of cross-cultural curricula to meet the educational needs and global challenges of the 21st century.

  O u r  I n t e r e s t s

VGSC interests span a broad array of activities, including publicizing the following global studies initiatives, programs, and resources at UNCG:

Exchange programs with colleges and universities abroad.

Foreign Language courses offered by the Department of Romance Languages (French, Italian, Spanish), and the Department of German, Russian, and Japanese Studies.

Global Business Education and Research at the Bryan School of Business and Economics.

Guidelines for Global (G) and Non-Western Perspectives (GN) courses at UNCG as suggested by the new General Education Core Committee.

Global Studies resources and multimedia materials at the University Teaching and Learning Center.

International Studies Program (INS). Students participating in INS with a major, second major or minor focus on international issues, areas of investigation, and concerns that lie outside the parameters of traditional academic disciplines. The goals of the INS program are to enrich, complement, and coordinate departmental offerings, and to provide a range of skills for students preparing careersin which knowledge of foreign cultures and understanding of global processes are important.
