MFA Dance Concert Explores Spirituality and Modernity
Kindal Blattner will give her MFA thesis concert April 4-5. |
GREENSBORO – The Dance Department at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro will present Ebb and Flow, an MFA thesis concert featuring the choreography of Kindal Blattner. The concert runs Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5, at 8 p.m. in the UNCG Dance Theater on Walker Ave.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $7 for students and seniors, $5 for UNCG students. For ticket information call 334-4849. Free parking is available in the university parking lot at the corner of Aycock Street and Walker Avenue.
The modern dance concert includes a variety of group works performed by UNCG students:
· Lost and Found (premiere) is a result of research concerning women’s issues and their religious paths.
· Chopin Suite (premiere), with live accompaniment by Frank Vulpi, is a joyful exploration in pure movement.
· www.tvsucks@thenetswallows.com (2000) is a comical look at overindulgence and over-reliance on technology.
· This Close (2002) is a reflection of the artist’s earlier experiences.
· Letting Go…In Search Of (2001) is a spiritual journey inspired by Tai Chi.
The cast includes Sarabeth Bartlett, Jaysen Buterin, Erin Brown Craven,
Tracie R. Foster, Holly M.Gilbert, Susan Haines, Christine Kiernan, Anne
Lazovik, Julie Mulvihill, Sarah Catherine Nelson, Leigh Pellom, Vickey
Rudd-LeMaster, Ginny Skinner, Meredith Starnes, Natasha R. Williams and
Jonathan Yeatts.
