UNCG PROFESSOR PALVIA CO-EDITS BOOK ON GLOBAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
GREENSBORO — Dr.
Prashant Palvia, professor and head of the Department of Information Systems
and Operations Management in the Bryan School of Business and Economics
at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, recently co-edited a
book on global information technology.
The book “Global Information Technology and Electronic Commerce,” (Ivy League Publishing), co-edited by Prashant Palvia, Shailendra Palvia and Edward M. Roche discusses the many topics of global information technology (GIT) and e-commerce. The book also discusses the state of the art in global IT and e-commerce in different countries and regions. It offers valuable information for managers in multi national enterprises, educators, students and researchers as most of the chapters provide practical ideas and mini cases for the global utilization of IT and e-commerce. It covers issues related to the application of technology in the multinational enterprise. It covers issues related to the application of technology in the multinational enterprise, including application development, information technology (IT) management and operations, architecture and infrastructure as well as IT strategy.
A UNCG faculty member since last August, Palvia is a specialist in global information technology. He has published three books in global information technology and more than 60 journal articles on information technology issues. He founded and serves as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Global Information Technology Management. A graduate of the University of Delhi (India), he holds the Master of Science, Master of Business Administration and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota.
Palvia’s work reflects the university’s
