UNCG FACULTY, STAFF MEMBERS RECOGNIZED
FOR THEIR WORK WITH DISABLED STUDENTS

GREENSBORO -- Faculty and staff members at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro recently received awards for excellence in working with students who have disabilities.

The UNCG Office of Disability Services presented the awards based on nominations by students.

The following faculty and staff members received awards: Dr. Robert Cannon, an associate professor of biology; Marilyn Edwards, a lecturer of social work; Maxine Grossman, a lecturer of religious studies; Dr. James Lancaster, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs; Dr. James Sellers, a professor of recreation, parks and tourism; and Steve Siler, staff member in the Office of Buildings and Trades.

The Office of Parking Services and the Department of Counseling and Educational Development also received awards. Al Leonard, who is retired from the Office of Public Safety and Police, received an honorable mention.

The Office of Disability Services provides assistance to more than 300 UNCG students with a range of disabilities.
