GREENSBORO -- Robin Adams has joined The University of North
Carolina at Greensboro as University News Service director.
In this position, Adams is responsible for coordinating the
University's external communications efforts and working with the
media to increase public awareness, understanding and support for the
University.
Adams reports to Helen Dennison, assistant vice chancellor for
university relations.
"We are pleased to welcome Adams to UNCG," Dennison said. "Her
varied media relations background will be of great benefit to UNCG as
we enter the next century."
Adams succeeds Wilson Davis, who retired as the University
News Service director last December after 31 years of service.
Before joining the UNCG staff, Adams coordinated internal and
external media and public relations for Durham Regional Hospital,
which is a member of the Duke University Health System. She also
worked as press secretary for U.S. Rep. Melvin L. Watt and spent eight
years as a reporter for the Greensboro News & Record.
A Burlington native, Adams is a graduate of Hugh M. Cummings
High School and Elon College. She is married and has two children.
