Bryan School Announces Beta Gamma Sigma Inductees

GREENSBORO — The Bryan School of Business and Economics at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro recently inducted about 60 business majors into Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), the nation's top business organization that recognizes top students internationally at accredited business schools and programs.

New inductee Patrick Morgan Parsons of Greensboro received the chapter’s $1,000 scholarship award during the ceremony. Keynote speaker was L. McGehee Porter III, managing director of Weiss, Peck & Greer, LLC in New York City, who was tapped as an honorary inductee of the organization. Porter received his Master of Science in Business Administration degree from UNCG in 1971.

Founded in 1913 as the first national honor society in business, BGS was a merger of three separate societies established to honor academic achievement in business at the University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois and the University of California. Its mission is to encourage and honor academic achievement and personal excellence in the study and practice of business.

The UNCG chapter was established in 1983 when 36 members were inducted. The latest class boosts the UNCG chapter membership to over 900 students, alumni, faculty and honorary members. The Bryan School's new members are:
