Executives Appointed to Bryan School Advisory Board
GREENSBORO – M. Lee McAllister, president of Weaver Investment
Company, is the new chair of the business advisory board of the Joseph
M. Bryan School of Business and Economics at The University of North Carolina
at Greensboro.
McAllister, who previously served as vice chair, succeeds David L. DeVries, co-president of Kaplan-DeVries Inc. The board serves as an advisory group to Dean James K. Weeks on ways the school can better meet the needs of the Triad's business and professional community. The Bryan School is the largest of UNCG's six professional schools, with approximately 2,100 undergraduates and 500 graduate students.
Triad executives newly appointed to three-year terms are Gwyn F. Riddick, director, N.C. Biotechnology Center Triad office; Frank D. Robb, executive vice president and chief technology officer, Wachovia Corporation; Gary L. Smith, executive vice president and CFO, Cone Mills Corporation; Jeffrey S. Taylor, vice president, Senior Products Group, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Inc.; Hal G. Waddell III, executive vice president, treasurer, and CFO, United Guaranty Corporation; Elizabeth S. Ward, CFO and treasurer, Moses Cone Health System; and Jonathan H. Witherspoon, president and publisher, Winston-Salem Journal.
Reappointed to their second three-year terms are Eric A. Button, Daniel A. Lynch, C. Louis Moore, Natalie White Perkins and Boyd Rogers.
Formed in 1986, the board’s general purposes are: to provide advice on the school's service to the business and professional community; to serve as a sounding board for research projects, educational programs and external activities; to provide a mechanism for informing the business and professional community about the capabilities of the school; to assist in developing funding priorities and strategies for the school; and to provide a clearinghouse for faculty to speak and consult with organizations, and for professional and business community members to enter the classroom.
