Counseling Professors Elected to National Offices
GREENSBORO – Two education professors at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro have been elected to lead associations of counselors.
Dr. Gerald Juhnke is president of the International Association of Addiction and Offender Counselors, and Dr. Craig Cashwell is president of the Association for Spirituality, Ethics and Religious Values in Counseling. Both are faculty members in the School of Education’s Department of Counseling and Educational Development.
Juhnke and Cashwell have been friends and colleagues since 1992, and
recently collaborated on an article about alcohol consumption on two college
campuses.
This is “an exciting time for our divisions, as both spirituality and
addictions counseling are gaining increased recognition within the counseling
field,” the professors said in a joint statement.
