Students of Color Academic Awards Presented to UNCG Students

GREENSBORO – The following students were among undergraduates who were recently recognized for their academic achievements during the 15th Annual Students of Color Academic Awards Program sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

UNCG Chancellor Patricia Sullivan, Dr. Edward Uprichard, provost; Dr. Anita Lawson, associate provost; Dr. Carol Disque, vice chancellor for student affairs; and Audrey Daniel, Office of Multicultural Affairs, made the award presentations.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides programs and services that support the academic mission of the university by enhancing the educational, personal, cultural and social development of students from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds. The office also promotes culturally diverse activities to create an awareness, tolerance and appreciation of racial and cultural diversity on campus.

To qualify for the awards, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Certificates were presented to African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic and Native-American students. Students who attended the event were and were honored were as follows:
