Author Maria Hummel To Give Reading Sept. 26

GREENSBORO—Writer Maria Hummel will read from her works at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, in the Faculty Center on College Avenue at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

The reading celebrates the release of Hummel's first book, "Wilderness Run." The event is open to the public at no charge, and will be followed by a reception and book signing. Her books will be available for purchase before and after the reading. The event is sponsored by the Master of Fine Arts Creative Writing Program and The Greensboro Review. Hummel is an award-winning poet who has written for The Georgia Review, The Greensboro Review, Green Mountains Review and other publications. She received her MFA from UNCG, where she studied under a Randall Jarrell Fellowship. She is a native of Vermont and lives with her husband in Los Angeles, Calif.
