Market Street Brass Announces Holiday Concert Schedule
GREENSBORO — The popular quintet Market Street Brass will present
a series of free holiday concerts in the Triad area this winter.
Founded in 1974, Market Street Brass is the resident faculty brass ensemble at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This talented ensemble performs frequently throughout the state of North Carolina to audiences of all ages. Members of the quintet are: Dr. Dennis AsKew (tuba), Dr. Edward Bach (trumpet), Dr. Randy Kohlenberg (trombone) Dr. Jack Masarie (horn) and Jonathan Woodbury (trumpet).
This year’s program will feature serious works such as “The Angel Gabriel Came from Heaven Above” and “Of the Father's Love Begotten” to more popular holiday pieces like “Sleigh Ride,” “The Little Drummer Boy,” “I'll Be Home for Christmas,” “White Christmas,” and even a sprinkling of children’s favorites.

Sunday, Nov. 30 - 7 p.m. Hanging of the Green Service, 6:30 p.m. pre-service music by Market Street Brass, Jamestown United Methodist Church, 403 East Main St., Jamestown.
Wednesday, Dec. 3 - 6:45 p.m. Christmas Concert at Starmount Presbyterian Church, 3501 West Market St., Greensboro.
Saturday, Dec. 6 - 7:30 p.m. Christmas Concert at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 501 S. Mendenhall St., Greensboro.
Sunday, Dec. 7 - 3:30 p.m. UNCG Holiday Choral Concert with Market Street Brass, Aycock Auditorium, UNCG Campus.
Thursday, Dec. 11 - 7:30 p.m. Christmas Concert at West Market United Methodist Church, 302 W. Market St., Greensboro.
Saturday, Dec. 13 - 6 p.m. Christmas Concert at Canterbury School Chapel, 5400 Lake Jeanette Road, Greensboro.
Sunday, Dec. 14 - morning services at First Lutheran Church, 3600 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro.
Wednesday, Dec. 17 - 11:50 a.m. Christmas Concert at First Baptist Church, 405 N. Main St., High Point.
Friday, Dec. 19 – 7:30 p.m. Christmas Concert at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1900 Walker Ave., Greensboro.
Sunday, Dec. 21 - morning services at Highland Presbyterian Church, 3280 Cloverdale Ave., Winston-Salem.
Wednesday, Dec. 24 - 10:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service at First
Lutheran Church, 3600 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro.
