Phi Beta Kappa Has New Members at UNCG
GREENSBORO— New members have been inducted into the Epsilon Chapter
of Phi Beta Kappa at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Speaker at the ceremony was Dr. Russ McDonald, professor of English,
whose topic was "The Real Shakespeare."
Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most prestigious academic honorary
society in the United States. It was established in 1776 at the College
of William and Mary and there are less than 300 chapters nationally. UNCG
is one of only six institutions in North Carolina to have a chapter. Others
are UNC-Chapel Hill, N.C. State University, Wake Forest University, Davidson
College and Duke University. This year's new members at UNCG are as follows:

Guilford County-Sarah Beth Kaplan, psychology major; Michael Brian Clark,
political science major; Elizabeth Morrell Walton, religious studies major;
Alan Henderson Watt, biology major; and Erica Lee Middleton, psychology
major, all of Greensboro; and Jason Thomas Morgan, history major of Oak
Ridge.

Randolph County-Amanda Tesh Allmon, psychology major; and Krista Ann Karbowski,
philosophy and classics major, both of Asheboro; and Elisha Carol Savchak,
political science major, of Randleman.

Forsyth County-Ornia Yael Fisher, biology major; and Amy Rebecca Gerald,
political science major; both of Kernersville; Serena Beth Reavis, English
major, of Clemmons; and Jeremiah Alexander Feducia, chemistry major, of
Pfafftown.

Stokes County-Katie Lee Hutson, English major; and Jessica Lynn Farmer,
psychology major, both of Pine Hall.

Wake County-Elizabeth Ann Bolton, English and pre-veterinary major; and
Elizabeth Hunt Hargrove, English major, both of Raleigh; and Rebecca Wells
Slaughter, psychology major, of Cary.
