UNCG NAMES ROSS PLASTERS ORIENTATION DIRECTOR

GREENSBORO—Ross M. Plasters has been named director of orientation at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, effective Dec. 1.
Plasters previously was associate director of new student programs at Washington State University from 1997 until taking the UNCG post.
In his position, Plasters will be responsible for planning and implementing the fall, spring and summer orientation programs, along with the selection and training of the student orientation staff. He also will provide leadership in developing new student and family programs. He also will assist with annual events like Fall Kickoff and help coordinate the University Studies 101 courses.
“We are delighted to have Ross join our staff,” said Dr. Cheryl Callahan, associate vice chancellor for student affairs. “His brings a wide range of experience in a variety of program areas at Washington State. I look forward to the contributions he will make at UNCG.”
Plasters is a graduate of Northern Michigan University and holds the master’s in student personnel administration from Central Missouri State University. In addition to his work as associate director of new student programs at WSU, Plasters also has experience as an academic advisor, a judicial review officer, a residence hall director and an instructor in educational psychology. He is a member, and serves of the board of directors, of the National Orientation Directors Association.
