Faculty Members Promoted at UNCG
GREENSBORO-Faculty members at The University of North Carolina
at Greensboro have received promotions, which became effective Aug. 1.
Announced by Chancellor Patricia A. Sullivan, the promotions were approved
by the UNCG Board of Trustees. Promotions from associate professor to full
professor were given to:

Dr. James Benshoff and Dr. Gerald Juhnke, Department of Counseling and
Educational Development.

Dr. Kelly Burke and Dr. William Carroll, School of Music.

Dr. Susan Calkins and Dr. Terri Shelton, Department of Psychology.

Dr. Suzanne Lea, Department of Mathematical Sciences.
-
John Maggio, Department of Art.

Dr. William Tullar, Department of Business Administration.

Dr. Theresa Vaughan, Department of Mathematical Sciences.

Dr. Jerome Walsh, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Other faculty members were promoted from assistant professor to
associate professor and granted permanent tenure. They are:

Dr. Thomas Kwapil, Department of Psychology.

Dr. Nancy Myers, Department of English.

Dr. Hamid Nemati, Department of Information Systems and Operations Management

Dr. Gregory Raner, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Dr. Carolyn Riehl, Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations.

Dr. Saundra Westervelt, Department of Sociology.
Dr. Mark Hens, Department of Biology, and Dr. Laura Linder, Department
of Broadcasting and Cinema, were granted permanent tenure at the rank of
assistant professor.
