UNCG Faculty Retirements for 2003-04
GREENSBORO – Faculty members who have given over 300 years of
service to The University of North Carolina at Greensboro are retiring
this year.
Chancellor Patricia A. Sullivan honored the faculty at a retirement
dinner on April 22. Most of the faculty members are retiring at the end
of this academic year or during the summer, while others retired during
the year. The faculty members and their years of service are as follows:
• Dr. Lloyd Bond, professor, Department of Educational
Research Methodology, 14 years.
• Fred Chappell, Burlington Industries Professor,
Department of English and MFA Writing Program, 40 years.
• Dr. Thomas Fitzgerald, professor, Department of
Anthropology, 30.5 years.
• Doris Hulbert, university librarian and director,
Jackson Library, 24 years.
• Dr. John Jezorek, professor, Department of Chemistry
and Biochemistry, 34 years.
• Dr. Donald Jud, professor, Department of Business
Administration, 33 years.
• Dr. Charles Kim, professor, Department of Textile
Products Design and Marketing, 14 years.
• Dr. Kathleen Koestler, associate professor, Department
of Romance Languages, 38 years.
• Lois Lietz, professional librarian, Jackson Library,
27 years.
• Betty Morrow, professional librarian, Jackson
Library, 20 years.
• Dr. Mary Helms, professor, Department of Anthropology,
25 years.
• Dr. Linda Wightman, professor, Department of Educational
Research Methodology, 6.5 years.
