 UNCG PROFESSOR ELECTED TO NATIONAL BOARD
 
GREENSBORO — Dr. Sarah Shoffner, an assistant professor of human development and family studies at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, was recently elected to a two-year term as vice chairman of finance on the board of directors of National Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society.

The mission of the organization is to empower leaders in the field of family and consumer sciences.

Shoffner is recipient of the 1996 Mary Frances Stone Outstanding Teacher Award, and was a finalist for the 1998 Board of Governors' Award for Excellence in Teaching and Alumni Teaching Excellence Award for Senior Faculty. She received her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from UNCG and joined the faculty in 1964.
