UNCG Faculty Members Receive Teaching Awards
GREENSBORO—Faculty members at The University of North Carolina
at Greensboro have received awards for teaching excellence 2001-2002.
The winners each received or shared a $1,000 prize during events in
late April or at ceremonies over commencement weekend. Funding for the
awards is provided by UNC General Administration, which allocates money
for all 16 campuses in the UNC system to reward faculty members for excellence
in teaching within their academic colleges and professional schools. The
winners are:

School of Education, Dr. Terry Ackerman, professor of educational research
methodology, and Glenda Torres, lecturer in specialized education services.

Bryan School of Business and Economics, Dr. Vidyaranya Gargeya, associate
professor of information systems and operations management, and Eloise
Hassell, lecturer in business administration.

School of Health and Human Performance, Dr. Ann Dils, assistant professor
of dance.

College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Russ McDonald, professor of English.

School of Music, Dr. George Kiorpes, professor of piano.

School of Nursing, Dr. Marilyn Evans, associate professor.

School of Human Environmental Sciences, Dr. Jonathan Tudge, associate professor
