Kenneth Mayer Elected Chair of UNCG Trustees
GREENSBORO – Greensboro architect Kenneth C. Mayer Jr. has been elected chair of the Board of Trustees at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Mayer, who is a partner with the architectural firm of Moser, Mayer,
Phoenix and Associates, PA, was elected to a one-year term. He succeeds
Thomas R. Sloan, chairman and CEO of Southern Optical Company in Greensboro,
who stepped down as chairman. Sloan has two years left on his board appointment.
Linda A. Carlisle of Greensboro, retired president of Copier Consultants,
was elected vice chair. Karen McNeil-Miller, who is vice president/corporate
resources with the Center for Creative Leadership, was elected secretary.
Two additional trustees, Joanne S. Drane of Raleigh and Thomas W. Ross
of Winston-Salem, were elected to the board's executive committee.
Jean E. Davis of Charlotte, senior executive vice president with Wachovia Corp. for information technology, E-commerce and operations, began her term on the UNCG board. She was appointed by Gov. Mike Easley during the summer.
