WORKPLACE HEALTH AWARDS PRESENTED BY WCNC
GREENSBORO--Twelve North Carolina companies received Well Workplace Awards at the annual conference of the Wellness Council of North Carolina (WCNC), held here Nov. 2-3.
WCNC is part of the Institute for Health, Science and Society at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and is affiliated with the Wellness Councils of America. As a non-profit member organization dedicated to the promotion of wellness in the work place, it serves over 300 member companies across the state of North Carolina.
The awards recognized the businesses as being among the state’s healthiest places to work. The companies were honored for their achievements in work site health promotion. Each has been added to the “America's Healthiest Companies” list, kept by the Wellness Councils of America. Well Workplace Awards are given on three levels and this year’s recipients were as follows:
Keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Brian L. Seaward, executive director of Inspiration Unlimited and Rocky Mountain Stress Management Seminars of Longemont, Col. “Back to the Future: Comprehensive Tools for Modern Worksite Wellness” was the conference theme.
Approximately 250 business and health leaders from the Southeastern United States attended the conference. The council's annual conference is designed to bring emerging issues in wellness and prevention to business, health and community leaders.
