Poets and fiction writers will read from their works in the museum's auditorium, located at the intersection of Tate and Spring Garden streets. The suggested donation is $5 for students and $10 for the general public. The annual fundraiser also will feature a raffle of autographed books, photographs and music, with tickets available at the door.
Featured writers will include N.C. Poet Laureate Fred Chappell, Michael Parker, Stuart Dischell, Lee Zacharias, Mark Smith-Soto, Sarah Lindsay, Christine Garren, Porter Shreve, Ann Deagon and Rob Seals. All proceeds will go to the Greensboro Food Bank, which distributes donated food to charitable agencies.
“Will Read For Food” is sponsored by the UNCG Master of Fine Arts Writing Program, Tate Street Coffee House and Guilford College Harris Teeter. Books by participating authors will be on sale both before and after the event. Free parking will be available in the lot behind the Weatherspoon.
