Clinical Education Philosophy

The UNCG ATEP´s philosophy of clinical education encompasses a team approach of shared responsibility among ATEP faculty, Approved Clinical Instructors, and Athletic Training Students. The clinical education plan is rooted in theories of peer assisted learning, experiential learning, and adult learning and is designed to value the collective experiences of all members of the education team.

Clinical Education Guidelines

The UNCG clinical education plan follows the guidelines set forth in the CAATE "Standards and Guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Athletic Trainer" (http://www.caate.net ).

Clinical Rotation Assignments

The ATEP faculty and ACIs collectively determine the clinical rotation assignments for all students. Rotations for first year students are assigned at the conclusion of the summer semester. Subsequent rotation assignments are determined during the semester prior to the rotation.
