Community Youth Sport Development

The undergraduate program in Community Youth Sport Develoment (CYSD) was developed for those students who wish to teach in community youth serving agencies.

This is a non-licensure program designed to prepare students in:

• program development
• teaching
• leadership
• evaluation
• entrepreneurship
• service learning

All professional course work includes field-based work at selected sites such as:

• Boys and Girls clubs
• YMCAs and YWCAs
• municipal recreation centers
• extended-day school locations

Internships are offered in local community centers as well as international settings like Mexico, Australia, Wales, Indonesia, and Portugal.
