Anthony joined the faculty at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro during the Fall 2006 semester after serving five years on the faculty of FSU's College of Information.
Anthony was born and raised in Tallahassee, FL and is married to his high school sweetheart Theresa. They have three children, Alex, Maegan, and Emma. Anthony earned his bachelor's degree from San Francisco State in developmental psychology (1992), his master's of science degree in Educational Psychology (1998) and Ph.D. (ABD) in Instructional Systems (2006) from FSU. Anthony is guided by the belief that knowledge truly is power. This is one of the primary reasons why he has dedicated himself to exploring the relationship between information, learning, technology, instructional design, and human development. He believes that providing access to meaningful and useful knowledge and information to students and people of all ages to assist them in living more content and meaningful lives is one of the fundamental tenets of education and information science. One of his more popular sayings is "the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know." Anthony has a tremendous amount of professional experience outside of the academic setting as well. He managed the computer-based training program of the Florida Department of Revenue¡¯s General Tax Administration Division, served as the manager of quality assurance and training for an Internet company, served as IT Director for Florida State University¡¯s College of Information, worked as Director of the FSU College of Information¡¯s Usability Center, and currently owns a small consulting company and is a general partner in another company dedicated to improving schools nationwide. Anthony is a big football and sports fan, especially of the FSU Seminoles, and also enjoys music, reading, taking care of his family dog Allie, and most important of all - being a good husband and father. |
