Dr. Carol Walker Jordan teaches LIS 615, Collection Development, and LIS 688, Library Instruction and Information Literacy for our program. She also teaches courses in Leadership and Management of Libraries and The Academic Library. Dr. Jordan has taught at the University of South Carolina in Columbia and at Queens University of Charlotte. Currently Dr. Jordan is the Dorothy Colmer Bailey Librarian at Everett Library at Queens University of Charlotte and serves as the University Librarian, 2000 to the present. She earned a B.A in Psychology and her M. Ed. in Counseling from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, and dual degrees—a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and the MLIS from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Dr. Jordan is active in professional organizations, serving for four years as a member of the Board of SOLINET, one year as Chair of the Board; she is a member of MLA, SELA, ALA, ACRL and NCLA. She is currently on the NC Librarians Council and serves as Chair of the Publicity Committee for NC LIVE. She has served on the Board of the Charlotte Rotary and completed two Rotary Foundation projects—one a literacy project in Kathmandu, Nepal, and one a medical services project with a hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. She lives in Charlotte with husband, David, who is a retired business consultant.
